Education: PhD in mathematics education

Research/Teaching Interests: I investigate 1) K-12 students’ mathematical thinking, particularly concerning the effects of instructional tasks, tools, and language on students’ conceptual understanding; 2) K-12 teachers’ teaching practices, especially concerning questioning skills used to probe and promote students’ conceptual understanding; and 3) mathematics teacher educators' professional development.
