Navigate360: FAQ

This FAQ page answers questions frequently asked by those who are interested in using Navigate360.

Navigate360 is a type of student success management system that is used for student retention.

Navigate360 and Degree Works are both student success systems used in higher education that derive data from Banner, the student information system. Degree Works is primarily used to assist with tracking degree completion, course planning, and academic advising.  

Navigate360, on the other hand, provides functionalities to manage information and leverage data to strategically support retention. It can assist with academic planning, appointment scheduling, communication, and intervention across departments. 

Any WWU personnel who are interested in enhancing student support are encouraged to use Navigate360. Students do not have login access to Navigate360 yet. 

WWU is currently subscribed to the Strategic Care and Intelligence features of Navigate360. Western does not subscribe to Smart Guidance features, which includes the mobile application.

Strategic Care and Intelligence allow you to: 

  • Search for and identify students who need support
  • Target large groups of students for outreach
  • Monitor student progress towards completing their degrees
  • Collect data for departmental tracking planning
  • Run reports for retention-planning
  • Compare student data sets

Users can conduct student searches using criteria such as: 

  • Student Information
  • Enrollment History
  • Area of Study
  • Performance Data
  • Course Data
  • Success Indicators

Users can create customized saved searches based on the selected criteria. In addition, users can also save student lists that are produced through the searches. 

All users get access to the Reporting feature, which will aggregate data based on your search criteria or saved lists. 

Analytics privileges are limited to the Navigate360 leadership team only. 

Most users can access the following types of reports:

  • Appointments
  • Appointment Summaries
  • Appointment Campaigns

Reports produce tables of data which can be exported into spreadsheets. Information from reports comes from the unique check-in and student-staff interaction workflows configured by each department.

Navigate360 includes interfaces to assist with office workflows and student interactions:

  • Student-facing kiosk system
  • Appointment-scheduling interface
  • Check-in interface

No. WWU does not subscribe to Smart Guidance features, which includes the mobile application.
