Research/Teaching Interests: My original research was in Food Studies. While that is still a passion, I mostly focus now on Shame Culture and its effect on identity, Queer Studies, and Family Comm --mostly queering our ideas of who is and who is not "family."
Hobbies/Interests: I love hiking and doing home renovations. Most of all, I love to travel. I have been to all 50 US States (lived in 30 of them) and been to approximately 40 countries (I used to have a 100% travel job).
